Jeff has already written a script for his next feature film, The Garden of Love. This film tells the story of a religious cult in Hastings, 1974. The main character, Steve, is a 16 year old who gets seduced by Melody, a pretty cult member, on his way home from school. Melody takes him back to their commune, which appears to be a paradise of free love and happiness. But all is not well, as commune members suffer from hunger and abuse at the hands of the “the Gardener”, the cult’s leader. All hell breaks loose when Steve attempts to leave.
The Garden of Love has strong parallels to The Eco-Terrorists as both films explore themes that Jeff is interested in: religions going wrong, cultic leaders and their followers, and the culture of communes in the 70s and 80s. Both films are set in a previous decade, but The Garden of Love is a much more adventurous project that requires a budget of 2-3 million dollars. Jeff regards The Eco-Terrorists as a learning experience and trial run for this next project which he believes will have a commercial cinematic release.
